The Lowlands is the second largest whisky region but is home to only 4 distilleries. The region covers the south of Scotland up to the north of Glasgow and Edinburgh where it meets the Highland border. The Whisky is lighter and more gentle with no peatiness.

Most famous Lowland distilleries are Auchentoshan and Glenkinchie.
